LONE BUFFALO NEWS FLASH!
Home Home on the Range --The Buffalo has Roamed!
Whoa boy! Hold onto your reigns and saddle up for a BIG new adventure with Lone Buffalo!
After five years of operation on our small estate in South Auburn, we have outgrown our space and have moved our "herd" to a wider prairie. Our scouts searched the trail for more than two years and we are thrilled to announce that we have moved the winery to a new location in North Auburn, right in the middle of the ever-expanding Placer County Wine Trail.
Due to overwhelming customer encouragement and support (ie. sales & growth), we have outgrown our humble winery space and our tasting room on little old Burgard Lane. The buffalos (that's us) now have more room to graze and grow, and our customers (that's you)now have more room to enjoy the full wine tasting experience including a larger tasting bar, the ability to picnic outside and enjoy small private functions on the premises.
The support of our loyal customers and all our “Friends of the Herd” has brought us to this exiting new stage in our winery business.
Those who have helped us pick, crush and bottle over the years know first hand that we were just plain out of room for quite a spell! This project gives us the opportunity to expand our passion for wine making and our commitment to community and agriculture. We are dedicated to nurturing our strong local roots and "beefing" up our agricultural production to help build recognition for Placer County Wines.
Oh give me a home,
Where the buffalo roam
And the deer and the antelope play
Where seldom is herd
A discouraging word
And the sky is not cloudy all day.

Our newly constructed winery facility sits on a twelve acre parcel of historic Placer County farmland on Wise Road. It was split off from a larger parcel (the Historic J.V. Ranch) that is still owned by the same family that started farming pears and other stone fruit over six generations ago. The winery itself boasts over 2,400 square feet for tasting, production and storage, 1800 square feet of crush pad that doubles as a covered patio, and is constructed from energy efficient, state of the art pre-insulated metal siding - yet still achieves a rustic and classic farm/ranch style we think is fit for both cowboys and kings. We have some great new picnic spots on the property as well.
This is just the beginning of this exciting new journey for Lone Buffalo. Saddle up and join us for the ride!
